Just about half way there!!!!

I am about to retire the two charts for the top half of this project. I have been stitching with four pages of chart and it is certainly a pain to work that way. I have gotten a kick out of the blue and white check napkin. It reminds me of the new kitchen curtains I made this summer.

Sunflowers Seeds

I continue to work on my Summer scrapbook page. I really do enjoy working on these big projects with so much detail. I like it because when you get bored with one section, you can move on to another section. The back stitching should help to define the sunflower petals. There is another banding piece below that - - pigs????? No matter how often you study the pattern photo, you will still miss something.

Now Summer returns - -

I am not sure what I was thinking when I put the title on the last post. I was probably planning on posting this image and instead I grabbed the envelope photos. I have now finished the envelope and I just need to find a card and perhaps a few goodies and it will be ready to go.

Meanwhile I have returned to Summer. Each little area is a treat. I really do enjoy working on this. One advantage to a large project is that you come to know what each symbol on the chart is calling for. I know that the greens have these symbols and blues are these other symbols. When I work on smaller charts, I never get to remember the symbols as well.

Oh - I did a lot of thinking about my friend Carol while stitching that watermelon section.

Summer returns!!!!

This is my mail art for an exchange for Christmas in September. It is all finished now and I will ship it out in September. I used Lizzie Kate designs to create this little project. The upper flap for the back of the envelope is stitched over one. I hope the person receiving this will like it. Now I have to find a Christmas card to put in it. And perhaps a few goodies.

Collectibles by PG Peddler

This is a very neat looking design. Think antique stores, garage sales and flea markets. Think about where ever you find such treasures. I think this design will do very well. I love the quilts and the pottery. It makes me feel all warm inside.

Cat's In The Cabin

PG Peddler just released this one. I love this for the colors, the quilts and oh yeah the cats are pretty cool also. I stitched this model earlier this year. If you check out her site, she is great about giving all the information. She spells out the fabric, the floss choices and the frame. I read all this in her newsletter.

Santa has my thoughts

I have been working on a new stitched mailart. This is the beginning of the envelope. Santa wouldn't fit stitched over two so I am doing it over one. There is a lot of work in that guy's beard.

Camp Post Card

And the big one continues to keep me busy. This was a camp sign. I tried to remember our camp when I was little. My parents had built a cabin on the river. It was a magical place for kids. We had so much fun. Most summers we stayed at camp and didn't go back home until school started. No phones. No televisions. No running water when I was very little. We only electric because Mom wouldn't stay there with baby twins without electric. The sound of the rain on the roof is a very fond memory. Mom taught us to sleep when it rained. I still do that today. LOL.

Let's take a break

I took an afternoon and did the finishing on the Just Nan When Barnabee Meet Bella biscornu. This little deals are fun to do. I did find it difficult to have the backstitching the same color as the fabric. While that helps to make the seam disappear, it is hard to see the little stitches you need to pick up and marry together. I like the way it turned out.
